Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is the sequel to the popular stealth game series created by renowned video game master Hideo Kodishima. This game is considered the best of its kind in the original Metal Gear series. It builds on the successor, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which was released immediately before it.
The story begins in 1984, after the main character, Solid Snake, falls into a coma and loses his forearm, causing severe fatigue that leads to his death. After waking up and leaving the hospital where he was in a coma, and with the help of his friends during an attack by an unknown organization, he decides to reform his mercenary company to confront global threats.
The game takes place in Stills, the usual setting in the series, with the possibility of shooting in open spaces. Enemies are numerous, and numerous covert operations must be stopped in Afghanistan during the Afghan-Soviet War, on the border with Zaire, and in Angola during the civil war in that African country.
To plan a stealthy invasion of an enemy database, Snake has binoculars and a map at his disposal. You can also choose when to board enemy territory. Non-flying weapons (a pistol with tranquilizer darts) and lethal weapons are available. You can move across large, open areas on horseback, as well as in armored vehicles and tanks. A unique feature of Metal Gear Solid: Ghostly Pain is the ability of the AI to adapt to your play style. For example, if you constantly shoot your opponents in the head, in later mission,s they will be wearing helmets, making it difficult to eliminate them with a precise shot to the chest and skull.
